in control panel there is a button with a computer screen (windows xp). that should be the place to fix it. twiddle around a bit with the resolution until it works. the size is usually 1024xwhatever size screen you have.

Ok, it sounds like your resolution just went to a smaller size.
Right click your desktop (middle of the screen)
Left click on properties
Click the settings tab on the next screen you see
There will be a resolution box there somewhere
change the resolution to something like 800X600 if it is 1040X768
Just make sure you slide the slider to the left until you are happy with the size.
Click the apply button at the bottom of the screen, then click ok
You should be done
Glad to help and have a nice day!

minimize all windows
right click on desktop
click Properties
go to Settings
change it to what fits you most
You probably had it at 1024 x 768 or 800 x 600 if what you have right now seems small
I would guess that right now you have it on 1280 x 1024

It's on your monitor, the settings that is.
Fiddle with it until you are comfortable with the way you like it
