It is well known that Monroe had had affairs with JFK, and RFK.

So, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that RFK was there, with Lawford, to find any evidence that could be damaging to his career at that time.

JFK was dead, so that spect did not matter. But, RFK was shooting for the presidency at that time. Hence, it was in RFK's interest to close off any attempts at political blackmail by others using any dirt that Monroe may have had on him.

There is really nothing to say about that. Also not enough evidence to prove anything. People alter the stories in so many ways there is no telling what happened that night.
