hate to say it, but when baby's ready...went into labor on own for both of mine...no predictors.

Ok, I was 4 cm dialated with all of my children for over a week and STILL not in labor. I had an u/s at my first appt. with all 3 of them and so they knew exactly how far along I was. I was 8 days late with the first and had to be induced b/c of high blood pressure and swelling and big baby. I was 4 days late with the second and induced, and I had the 3rd on my own. I was 5 days late with the 3rd, but my water broke and he came on his own......all 10 pounds of him!
Good luck!

I was a week overdue with my first son. I had my weekly visit with my OB on Thursday. I was 2 cm dilated and 60% effaced. He scheduled me for an induction the following Monday. When I arrived at the hospital, I was 3 cm dilated and 75% effaced, so he skipped the inducing drugs and just broke my water. My labor progressed fine from there. From breaking my water until I actually delivered my son, a total of less than 5 hours elapsed. It was much easier thanks to my epidural.
My second son was 2 weeks early and born via emergency c-section because when I had contractions, it put pressure on him and made his heart rate plummet.

i honestly think you'll be induced. i delivered on my own 4 weeks early. they had to stop my labor twice before that. i'm a waitress so i'm on my feet all the time. another girl i work with did this too. i think it has something to do with walking alot. don't try any crazy things to start labor, none of them work anyway. even having sex. true, semen contains the chemical they used to induce labor, but the quantity isn't enough to make a difference.

I was dialated at 3 when I went in for my induction. I ended up having a c-section after 32 hours of labor (on pitocin with no epidural). Just go with the flow. You can be dialated at 2 for weeks.
I know that is not what you wan to hear becasue you are uncomfortable and induction SUCKS. Go for a lot of walks and try and relax (I know it is hard at this stage). Good luck and congrats on your new baby!

i was 2 days late and i had to be induced because my water broke but i wasnt having any contractions. if you want to go in labor on your own you should do a lot of walking.

I was induced myself.I had an ob who didn't believe in his patients going passed the date.
I went to the hospital with false labor, and it was two days before due date (bummer, because two more days, and my son could've had my bro's b-day). I guess the doc decided to induce me instead of sending me home.

At approximately 36 or 37 weeks i all started strolling a ton. Like some miles an afternoon, no longer all on the comparable time ofcourse. in basic terms before that my son had no longer delivered to all. i exchange into confident that i could finally end up turning in previous due or being precipitated b/c my BP exchange into getting extreme. He dropped incredibly speedy and alter into born in week 38!

In a few days have sex.....but do not let him pull out. Make him stay inside you and fall asleep. Guaranteed contractions in the morning!
