My 14 year old daughter has the same problem.
Try coating the metal parts with clear nail polish. You'll have to re-coat alot, since it chips off. But it helps. Good luck.
Edit:
By the way, it sounds like you have an allergy to nickel. It's the metal that is found in cheap jewelry and in belt buckles. It's pretty common.

Don't listen to them. It's not a question of wearing tight belt but you really have a serious allergy to those fake gold plated metal. I too have the same problem. This rash itches so bad and comes back if you wear that belt again. Just get rid of that and look for some leathered buckle or plastic ones.Wash the infected area with Irish spring soap twice daily and use some anti-rash cream. You'll be fine.

Well best option is to use Silver or Gold belt buckles "custom-made" for you!!!
They will look gorgeous and ur rash problem is solved too....
I think u have some allergic reaction to such metals. Check with your doc for that. I think it can be contained...
Tucking in the shirt or wearing a think cloth inside could prevent the belt from touching the skin ;)

I have the same problem! Sounds like you have a nickle allergy.
I paint the metal parts of my new belts with clear nail polish (several coats) and my dermatologist prescribed a cortizone cream (Elocon). I also try to wear pants every so often that don't require a belt to give my skin a break.

Obviously don't wear tight clothes. Wrap skirts or wrap long scarves or use colorful ropes or belts with plastic buckles. Good luck. My mother knew a lady with a similar problem. She had to wear a couple of layers on top to minimize the obviousness of her chest's flop and wiggle. She had to be careful of colors for opaqueness when it was too hot (we lived in southern Arizona, summers were a little warm, even before 'global warming') for multiple layers. She always wore sheath, tent, or moomoo styles. Good luck.

I believe you are allergic to the metal. My cousin is also allergic to the metal (especially on watches) so you will need to find an alternative. You might be able to wear a one piece bathing suit when you need to wear a belt so that your belt will touch your bathing suit; rather than your skin. I hope this helps!
