I think at some point in our life we all have had a boss like the character "Miranda Priestly". Tell us about it.

I was just talking to my sister about that after we watched that movie and she told me about her version of a boss from hell.

I won't name names so she won't get in trouble.

After graduating from Harvard Law, she got a job as a junior associate for a big firm in New York we will simply call WLRK. Since she's new, she always takes second chair after a hotshot lawyer. She slaved her butt off researching case after case, all while he takes credit for it all. He also treats her like his assistant. Coffee, errands, talking to clients he doesn't want to deal with. All he does is talk on the phone with his girlfriend that is 14 years younger than him, or spends it in his office while his girlfriend is under his desk. He also tries to hit on her whenever possible outside work.

I have a background in journalism and worked as a public relations specialist at a hospital. My boss was the devil incarnate! I learned so much of what not to do from her, that now I am a supervisor I'me probably too kind to my employees.

My boss would always take credit for someone else's ideas or work. I won an award for three brochures about cosmetic surgery that I wrote for a doctor, so she assumed that to get the information I had to be sleeping with the doctor. I wasn't. However, SHE was sleeping with the hospital administrator and was later fired for it.

She would walk by and employee and just stop and look at them and say things like "I find it hard to believe that you have any friends." She was a very bitter person who finally tried to commit suicide.

She was never around for advice or to help back you up with information for a project, but if it turned out good, she would take credit for it. But if it turned out bad......she was happy to give YOU the credit for it.

I truly believe the phrase that "what goes around, comes around" and this particular lady now is divorced, her children will not live with her and she is bouncing from one job to the next and having to move back to her home state. If you dish it out, you better know how to take it!

One of my bosses worked at a cafe. She was an angry lesbian.
She trained me and forgot to tell me so many important details. Then, she made me close the cafe alone without giving me a list of what needs to be done.
When, she finally gave me a closing list she said she was mad I looked at it regularly. She said it needed to be memorized right away.
I just glared at her. Later, that week she pulled me aside and said to me. "Do you hate me or something?"
I made something up....I thought what is she talking about?
She would then apologize profusely and say all the time i am sorry for being rude.
She was so crazy. Her lover would come in all the time. The lover was homely and manish like a stereotype. It was like being in a bad sitcom.....some supervisors with low self esteem pollute the work force.
I went on vacation for a month and a half. My first shift back the first thing she said was: "I hate my job!"
I know the feeling, sister!
I missed every other manager I have ever had. Too much estrogen in the work place is no fun!!

The Devil Wears Prada. I had a department chair that was just as terrifying. She was demanding. She never asked you to do anything, she told us what to do and how to do it. When I decided to quit to student teach, she made me resign in January and work until May. There was no reason to quit that early and work with everyone knowing that I was leaving. She said it was to hide someone else quicker by posting the position, but she did not post the position until July.

I had a boss who never accepted that anyone else had good ideas. You had to feed her bits and pieces of a project until suddenly she "got it." Then since it was her idea, it was good.
If I'd given her the whole project, she would automatically reject it.
