i hadn't read the book when i saw the movie, and I thought it looked kind of dumb and predictable. BUT I really liked it and found it entertaining! Meryl Streep can really be a *****! In a good way :) After I saw the movie, I read the boOK, which was ok, but definitely different from the movie.

I saw it with a girl friend, which was good because I didn't know it was such a chick flick - I thought (and was told) that it was a BOSS flick. I was glad not to be a male without a woman with me (OK, I'm insecure that way).

First half actually WAS a boss movie, but as soon as she "changed" and went along, it turned into a chick flick. Actually, it was sort of structured like "Working Girl" (which I liked), but it wasn't as powerful.

I DID like Merrill Streep's portrayal - especially her facial expression at that designer's studio.

it was okay.

the ending is not very practical, tho.

anne hathaway is gonna be working for new york mirror and she thinks she's living with her man in boston? it's quite a commute to do everyday. I don't think she, or the writers, really considered the logic of this.

and, i know, it is just a movie, but i prefer happy endings. :-)

Unfortunately, I didn't care much for it. I just found it to be broing, repetitious and tedious (you get the idea)...Despite Meryl Streep's efforts and Anne Hathaway was fine, the story and the characters were just uninteresting stereotypes.

NOt bad. I think the looney boss lady tricked the new girl into the postion that she was in when quiting her magazine job. BUt it was fun. I really liked the new girl more than the boss lady.

It was a good movie, but I did not like the acting job by Anne Hathaway. It was sorta long too, but overall it was good.

I saw it too. It was ok. The book is probably way better, but I'm too lazy to go out and buy it.

Since I didn't see it, the better question is what you think.
