Yes, it will delete everything although you can simply reinstall XP . In fact, you can use the XP cd to both format and reinstall windows at the same time. Just follow the directions upon inserting the cd.

If you have 2 or more partitions on your hard disk and your windows is in C: drive, you can safely format the other partiton/s without deleting windows xp.
