Everybody knows that Manchester United aren't the team that they once were. We know longer rule the land and we no longer are the richest club. This is why instead of buying the world's superstars we need to buy players that will give us the best value for money.
To get value for money you have to go abroad because the player in England are way over priced.
Van Der Sar is getting on a bit so we need get a quality keeper before he goes. We don't want to go looking for panic buys once he's left like we did when Schmeichel left. Therefore I think we should sign Sebastian Frey from Parma.
I think that we have got a great defensive unit but we need cover for Gary Neville at right-back. I would buy Anthony Vanden Borre from Anterlecht.
Now we come to the midfield. There has been a lot of speculation over who might be coming to United but nothing has been done so far. Personally I think that we should place a bid in for Stan Petrov up at Celtic. Portmouth put a £5million bid in for him that was regected. Celtic want £10 million and I think that £10 million for Petrov would be a steal. If possible we should also put a loan bid in for Reyes at Arsenal because I cant remember him starting many games last season and he'd be the perfect replacement for Giggs when the time comes.
If Van Nistelrooy goes which it looks like he will then I would be happy to play Rooney and Rossi every week but some back up would still be needed if things don't go according to plan. I would love to see Simone Pepe of Palermo come in. I've seen him play a couple of times and he looks just like a young Eric Cantona in terms of him ability. He has a good sight for goal, he is very strong and well balanced. He could play in front or behind Rooney no prblems either way.
To sum up, United should buy:
Frey for about £5 million
Vanden Borre for about £ 6.5 million
Petrov for about £10 million
Pepe for about £8 million
Reyes on a loan deal

The worst thing that could happen for ManU has happened. They were sold. I'm not sure if Glazer is the problem but in a sale like this there is going to be a great debt burden that must be paid off. I can foresee the Devils falling off for several years before they return to glory. As an American, I see this happen all the time with Leveraged Buy Outs and other types of corporate mergers. In short, I too hope to see ManU win the premiership and cast all doubts aside in the process.

The lack of purchases by Manchester United suggests to me that the Glazers are taking money out of the club. I reckon they think they will get by on their existing players. Ferguson probably needs to sell Van Nistelroy before he can buy, which is one reason he is desperate to push up the transfer fee
If you are a Manchester United supporter, you have probably seen the best days of your club. Personally, if I had been a Man U fan I would be supporting the non-league team that your supporters started up. You may not see Europe immediately but you'll have far more fun watching your team advance than tagging along with the prawn-sandwich eaters and their ageing side.

they should be trying to get a player or two to reinforce the midfield. good choices are mascherano or cambiasso of argentina, vieira of france and gattuso of italy. they might also bring in another striker since van nistelrooy seems to be leaving. defoe shld be able to do the job. they are also still hunting for a goalie and the polish keeper playin for west brom shld be joining. i also wish man utd to pick up some really hot talents from around the world like jean carlos chera

Some cover on defense and a holding central midfielder. Going after Carrick was a very smart move.
