I know its sometime before your period and after. I'm just not sure when. I'm not trying to conceive yet.

The first day of your period (real blood flow) counts as cycle day 1 and the end of your cycle ends on the day before your next period. Once you calculate that, most women ovulate mid-cycle.

If you have a 28 day cycle, you'll "probably" ovulate around day 14 or so. BUT, not everyone does & not everyone has a 28 day cycle. For instance, I have a 28 day cycle (or I did before I had my twins, but I hardly pay attention anymore - maybe I should :) ), but don't usually ovulate until day 17 or so.

When you are ready to start trying, you can get an ovulation predictor kit which will help narrow down the window for you.

Good Luck

12-16 days before your period starts. If you're trying to get pregnant, you can use a ovulation predictor kit to determine when you're ovulating since you don't necessarily ovulate on the same cycle day every cycle. If you have a "normal" 28-day cycle, you'll want to start testing at about day 10 to make sure you don't miss ovulation.

Go to parenthood.com & click on the "Conception" tab at the top. In that section there's an ovulation calculator that will give you the dates.

If a womans cycle is regular, then she ovulates around the middle of her cycle, but if her cycle is irregular, then ovulation is unpredictable. BUT thanks to technology we have OPK's that help us predict ovulation.
