I turn 20 in a couple weeks and was thinking of doing a beach bonfire. Most people I know just play Twister and sit around and eat food and whatnot. What are some fun things we can do???

Cut out a bunch of paper dolls and have everyone write a problem on one, (or an enemy's name) and throw it in the fire.

Burn an effigy of war or poverty or greed whatever you're in the mood to protest.

Bring along a good radio and gobs of batteries! Get a few good friends to help you get people to dance.

Bring along herbs or chemicals to make the fire smell good or show different colors.

Buy five or six rolls of masking tape (Easiest to burn without environmental damage) Have everyone make their own "burning man" out of garbage they find; it''ll keep your party clean and people will love the competition.

Mostly don't sweat the petty things, enjoy your friends responsibly, make memories! Happy Birthday!

S'mores! we've made grown up smores with sorts of cookies and gourmand goodies, only for a replace. My favourite became when we used Nyaker gingersnaps, darkish chocolate and sea salt caramels with the roasted marshmallows. Mmm. basically sit down round and strum a guitar, communicate, regardless of the reality that. very like a warm bath, bonfires have a tendency to launch inhibitions. ;) have relaxing.

guitar - American Pie, Barrett's Privateers, Circle Game, One Tin Soldier

Make colored flames

Roast chestnuts

Collect big "poking sticks" from the woods - it is fun to poke a fire

Campfire songs

Lawnchairs and blankets

if it's morning time, drinking tea/coffee is awesome fireside

Foil dinners - google on "foil dinners" - get everyone to bring one, or set it up so they can make them when they come, use a permanent marker on the foil to write names

smores

Do like a scouts do make a campfire and have people organize scetches ( they do not have to be experts, you can ask local kids ) btw a campfire is exectly like a bonfire.

Roast hot dogs, burn marshmallows and make s'mores.

Roast corn on the cob (keep the husks, soak in water, cook for about 5 minutes)
Roast baked potatoes in foil. Poke some holes in the 'tater so they don't explode.

Boil lobsters in a pot of salted water.
BBQ oysters on a grill.

Now it's the end of list.
For now.

roast a watermelon. that is where you throw a watermelon in the fire , when it explodes ,every body runs into the woods and gets a piece. that's always fun.
