I'd go with a 40 gallon breeder... It's comparable to a 55 gallon in floor space, but it's wider... Imagine being a beardie in a 55, it'd be like living in a narrow hallway!! Plus that way the lights are closer to the animal, less wasted space AND energy :-)

40 breeder: 36L x 18W x 16H
55 gallon : 48L x 12W x 21H

I agree with snake girl. A 40 breeder is a better tank for a reptile. I've used one for a couple of different reptiles that I've had and it works great. Plus, it's easier to reach into to get your animal out or to clean it. Generally 55 gallon tanks are relatively tall

Wow, thats a big tank.
So, 4 feet by 1 foot by almost 2 feet.
Hope this helps!
