Wow- this sounds like a fun, drunken story problem or something. Obviously, we are all going to consider you "nuts" for even considering this. I guess our first question is how quickly you plan on drinking 8 beers; an hour, two, 10 or what?? If it's only going to be within a couple hours you will most likely be legally drunk- unless you are like 6'5'' and 350lbs and I think we would all pay you good money to watch somebody that size riding a bicycle for 3.5 miles (especially in the rain while "tipsy"). As another responder said, it certainly doesn't sound very bright to risk your life riding a bicycle that distance in the rain, while impaired, and, looking at when you posted this question, at night when drivers will have a more difficult time seeing you. Do you honestly need beer that badly and why 8 of them? Sounds like you have a problem first for wanting/needing 8 beers (is that really normal for you in a couple hours?) and, furthermore, by asking this question. If you do need the beer that badly, wouldn't it be much smarter to simply go home, get the money (I'm asuming you don't have a credit card, etc) from your home and then either: (a) ride/walk up to the nearest party store and carry some beer back home to drink; (b) invite someone over for beer under the you buy if they fly policy- probably just as cheap to buy the beer at the store including extra for a buddy than it is to buy them at the bar ;(c) explain the situation to any of your neighbors/friends/etc and see if you can simply buy some beer of them, or;(d) simply ride your bike around for 3.5 miles out in the rain without purchasing any beer because all that exercise would probably make you fall asleep and then you'll have all that beer money saved for next time. Anyhow, looks like by the time I posted this response your decision had already been made. I'm sure we are all curious as to what you did so please post some follow up info in the added details section below your original question. I guess WE are all curious as to whether it could be done as well.

Sure but you will not be drunk by the time you get there, so plan to start all over when you get back!

Yes it's possible but difficult and more importantly damn stupid! You can get yourself just as dead biking when drunk as driving drunk-stay where you are.
