I have mentally outgrown a tatoo of a viper around a rose on my tummy I got in my 20's and it is embarrassing. My daughter thinks it's pretty but I do not want to give her the idea that what I did was right. Has anyone successfully had one removed. Does it hurt?

From artists who create tattoos to doctors who remove them -- say the best strategy is not to get ill-considered tattoos in the first place. Their advice: Think. Will you enjoy having your fraternity letters on your backside in a decade?

Laser surgery may be the answer for you. Laser surgery uses a narrow band of light aimed at a specific area. The light is absorbed by specific parts of the body and is ignored by the rest of the body.

Get the tattoo professionally removed. I suggest this because I know plenty of people and plenty of stories about those who remove it themselves. Some people take burnt plastic and put it over their tattoo, they let the plastic cool, then rip it off with the skin. Now come on people, don't give yourselves scars like that. Get it professionally removed.

Since lazer procedure is very expensive, and painful.
You could just pick a more prettier tattoo to cover the
yucky one you have...I would cover it with another tat.

it depends on the pigmants of the tattoo. sometimes the process can be more painful and costly than the tattoo in the 1st place. the red pigmants are harder to laser out. but it can be done.
