Once again with the not listing gallons. It is almost impossible to ascertain what fish you can keep when you say "Medium". There is quite a bit of difference between what you can keep in say a 55 (What really should be considered 'medium' or smaller) and a 29.

If it's a 29, your best shot is really just to get some Neon Tetras and Corydoras catfish for bottom feeding. There are other options (Such as a pair of German Rams), but for a beginner the above listed are your best bet.

big question little answer space. What kind of tank, salt water or fresh. (I would pick fresh for you tank) Warm water or cool water (gold fish or others- I wouldn't choose goldfish for yours) Then you just need to pick a theme, a certain fish, or type of fish to build the rest around. Pick fish that won't grow too large and that get along together. See a pet store for more help.

angel fish eat molly babies. Don't try to get too much variation of fish. I like a school of angel fish with a few bottom feeders and when you get better at it try some discus.
