It seems people here forget their passwords, a lot. I have to remember between 10 and 15 passwords, I have yet to forget one, so, it can't be that hard. If I can do it, others can do it.

Yeah, I'm aware that others might be trying to hack someone else's account but let's assume intentions are good and they did indeed forget.

It's hard to remember then when you have to change them every 6 weeks....and you can't change them to a previous pswd. I have about 20 different ones between work, school and personal. It can be hard, especially when some require # and letter combos.

Yes, it can be very easy to forget passwords, especially if you dont use them daily.
If you have to remember a lot of passwords, best way to select your passwords is to develop a technique or some correlation between the system and the password being selected. Obviously dont use a password like yahoo123 or google123. Perhaps start your password with "Y" for your yahoo account or include a "oo" in your google password....
Best passwords must have uppercase, lowercase, numbers, symbols and must be at least 8 characters long

its not hard and if you find it difficult then make them be something that you keep on your desk like my password for my typewriter yes i have to sign on for my typewriter my password is paperscroll you know because the type writer has a scroll to put the paper in so if i could not remember my password i'd look around where i am and i would remember but so far i have not forgotten a single password yet and i have to remember about 12 also if you are careful that no one else can get it you could write down your screen names withe their matching passwords next to them but be careful that that list does not get in the wrong hands well good luck and i hope that i have been able to help you have a nice life

you've hit upon a simple rule of computer security: passwords should almost always be so hard to remember that they have to be written down. simple ones are easy to crack.
if you are remembering many passwords, perhaps you should consider the strength of these words and the degree of security needed. comp'rs with sensitive data should have super passwords (for a complete easy to understand talk about this subject, go to "grc.com/security now" i believe it is in an early program 1-10?

passwords can be hard to remember at times. I recommend a password manager to remember them for you like Roboform. It is great and you only need to remember a 'master password'. It is in NO way, shape, form, or fashion a good idea to use only one password. If someone gets it, basically you are screwed.

It is not so much they 'forget' They are looking for a way to crack some elses password. They use that' I forgot 'line all the time.

People can forget their password if they have multiple passwords. i always have the same password for all accounts so i won't forget it

I can barely remember my name, much less the dozen passwords for Yahoo, bank, credit cards, etc. A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

memory capacity is different for every person and changes with age and circumstance, -- one of the unique things about humans
and I just keep a file of all my passwords and ids on it. works for me
