Your grammar needs work, or your translation does.
However, you are right about the names. Football would seem to imply that you primarily use your feet on the ball. This was true in the World Cup, the most prominent sporting event for MOST of the world. However, some way, some how, this sport here in America got the name football when only one or two players on a team is EVER supposed to put their foot on the ball. This is so rare that they call the players who do this SPECIAL TEAMS! I think the name football came from the size of the ball originally, but it has lead to problems. I do call football soccer here, or when I am speaking internationally I use futbol since I took Spanish in high school.
Indicentally, my screenname is a referene to an American Football team and I do love the sport, even though it is incomprehensible to most people.

You've got it backwards. What Americans call soccer is what everyone else calls football. What Americans call football is kind of like rugby except they stop the game for ten minutes every time the ball changes hands or touches the ground.

I'll spare you my typical answer to this common misconception. Very simply, American football has been around longer. The kicking of the ball was more common at that time and the name has stuck. Association football was renamed soccer BY ONE OF IT'S OWN PEOPLE and continues to be marketed AROUND THE WORLD as soccer. America has nothing to do with the name. Look it up in Wikipedia.com by typing "soccer" in the search bar. I won't be nice about it next time.

why do you people keep asking this same question over and over? we've been calling football football and soccer soccer for 150 years now, and that's not going to change, so get over it. if the rest of the world chooses to call soccer football, fine, knock yourselves out. we've fought several wars because of people trying to tell us what to do. we're fighting a war on terrorism right now because islamic extremests want to dictate american policy. the united states of america will not stand for outsiders telling us what to do and we'll be damned if we're gonna let the rest of the world tell us what to call our favorite sport. it's football dammit, it's not handball or tackleball or american football or anything else. it's just plain football and that's the way it's going to stay

Who cares. It got the name about 100 years ago. Who knows what they were thinking. It really doesn't matter what you call it as long as you can communicate what it is.
