It all depends on if you are ovulating or not- it is possible to ovulate but not have a period. If you don't have periods, you need to see your doctor to determine why this is happening.

This is how your body works:

Once you become old enough to start going through puberty your ovaries can start to release eggs to be fertilized, this is called ovulating. It is when you are ovulating, and the average woman ovulates one egg only once a month, is when you can become pregnant, not at any other time.

A period happens when you have ovulated and the egg was not fertilized (aka, you did not become pregnant). Your uterus before you ovulate builds up a layer of tissue and blood that will be a cushion of sorts for a fertilized egg to grow on, and if there is no fertilized egg to grow there, your body sheds this layer of tissue and blood, and this is where the blood comes from.

Because you ovulate before you get your first period (the average female ovulates several times before ever having a period), it is possible that you could become pregnant even if you haven't ever gotten your period, so don't think you're totally safe to have sex just because you've never had a period!

Correct me if I am wrong - but I though that having your period was the first sign that you may be pregnant.

If you are not old enough to have your period - the save the sex for a couple of years - you certainly won't look back at the experience very fondly several years from now - trust me.

According to my wife, you can get pregnant almost any time - the percentages just change based on your ovulation cycle.

you know you guys and gals are being rather harsh....she didn't ask if you thought she should be having sex

AND some girls/women don't get their first period until their late teens early twenties, and don't act like you were all married and thirty before you had sex!

but the answer to your question hunny is yes. Because you can ovulate before your first period and get pregnant before you even know you were going to get it.

Best of luck,
Hannah

If you are a female who has hit puberty and not hit menopause and have all the anatomy still there is always a chance you can get pregnant. Now, there are a number of conditions that can lower your chances and not menstrating is one of them. However on the flip side, have you seed you physician about why you aren't menstrating?

Yes. If you are too young to have even started, you are fertile a year before it starts. And if you are breast-feeding, you can also get pregnant. That's how my husband got his brother.

It depends on what is causing you to not have a period to begin with.
Ask a Dr.

i think she means she isn't even old enough to have started her period...

in that case, you should definetly NOT be even considering sex.
