He didn't really have to say anything. It is standard to eject someone (especially a manager who specifically comes out of the dugout for this) who is arguing balls and strikes. You could see the ump shaking his head as soon as Cox got to the plate. It was a horrible call, but as soon as he mentioned balls and strikes, he was outta there.
