There are currently two high profile Mormon politicians who have any shot at becoming president of the United States, Republican Governer Mitt Romney and Senate Minority leader Harry Reid. Recent polls have shown that around 20% of people would not vote for him just because he/she is Mormon. Is this poll accurate in your eyes, and would the fact that the candidate is mormon change your vote one way or the other?

That would not matter to me but it does seem like an accurate figure. I also saw that 12% of people in TN said they would not vote for Harold Ford just because he is black. Something like that anyways.. Seems ignorant...

Did you say mormon or moron? We already have a moron ... don't mind voting for a mormon if he's going to do anything about this sorry mess at our borders ... which effectively rules out Sen Harry Reid ... his being a mormon has nothing to do with it, just think that man is just as moronic in his own ways as the clodhopper we entertain now ....

ok, i'm Mormon, and i have studied enough, and have educated myself enough to know how to vote for people. I vote for whoever upholds the same values as i do. If pres Bush was running againsts a mormon, i would vote for Bush, Plain and simple. Mitt Romney was a good head of the Olympic Committe in salt lake in 2002, but if you vote for someone, it shouldn't be because of their religion. we're not psycho's, but your right, we do have high standards. If you can't handle that, then don't vote for him! Were a religion! Not a cult. We believe in Christ, we worship Christ, and if you don't want a society where Christ is centered, don't vote for a Mormon.

Yes, I would definitely not vote for a Mormon. They are a bunch of evil drones. Trust me, I dated one for 2 years.

Anyone dumb enough to be a Mormon, shouldn't be President. Shouldn't be elected to Congress either. No I wouldn't vote for a satan worshiper.

i ought to completely vote for an atheist. actually, it may well be a factor in his/her choose. All i'd wish is to have no reason to vote by contrast individual. working example, i does not vote for a comedian working as a exposure stunt or a nazi. exceptionally extreme examples, yet you get what I recommend, i'm specific.

It would depend on their record and what they say about various issues. Most politicians belong to some religion and it bothers me only if they try to impose their religious values on the rest of society.
In my experience- being raised as a Mormon- I'd say they are generally tolerant people. (I'm not one now). For this reason I'd probably choose them over a fundamentalist (such as our prezuhdent), but I'd prefer someone who keeps their religion to themselves, if they choose to belong to one.

I for sure would not vote for a mormon. I believe in things like pro-choice and birth control...and well...they dont.

Not at all. I look at their stand on policies as opposed to their creeds. I kind of like Romney, but would have to learn more about his history on policy issues before casting a vote for him.
