Why did OJ Simpson go free?

I thought we had a court system in this country that worked.

Because we have laws in this country that state that crimes must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. Did OJ know or commit these crimes? I can't imagine that he is totally innocent but as described there were elements of his case that simply didn't make sense to me then or now. I can proudly say without reservation that I don't know what happened that night. I saw LAPD and the Chicago PD take apart every storm drain and garbage can along the path OJ took that night. They covered every square inch for a knife that simply disappeared from the face of the earth. If I had lived near LA you can bet I would have been out there looking too so I could have cashed in on the talk show circuit and written my book on How I Helped Bring OJ to Justice. But no one ever did and apparently never will. So logically the simple explanation is that the story as presented in court was factually inaccurate or incomplete. It seems clear that someone else at the very least took part in removal of the murder weapon. Did OJ act alone? There are certainly things that place him at the scene but for me there were too many convenient coincidences to eliminate all other possibilities. Too often we get caught up in a need for revenge which is not the same as justice. But what really interests me is why the hell people still get so worked up over something that happened 12 years ago. It makes me wonder why this is so symbolically significant to certain people.

I think most people who followed the OJ case strongly feel that he is guilty. Under our system the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. The problem in the OJ case was that an inept judge lost control of the court proceedings, and a totally incompetent prosecution team completely botched the case against him. Contaminated and therefore inadmissible evidence, police officers lying under oath, gloves that didn't fit etc etc. Fact is he is likely guilty but the hopeless performance by prosecution was not sufficient to convince the jury beyond a reasonable doubt.

The media made a circus out of it. The prosecution helped to pick a jury with a collective IQ of 12. Those morons never listened to a word. OJ was going to walk no matter what. Whether he did it or not will never be certain. The only thing that is certain is that two people are dead and both families lives will never be the same. And don't kid yourself, everyone and I mean everyone connected with that trial made a fortune. Even many of the jury members from the civil trial. One even produced a Broadway play about the trial. Pretty sad.

OJ is a psychopathic mutation who used the "race" card and money to defend himself against the system.

It worked even though he's more white than i am.

Juice escaped through a series of follies created at the hand of the LAPD and the mockery of the circumstantial evidence.

His life, however, will never exactly be FREE even though he's not behind bars. He's constantly badgered and will forever be known as having a major blemish and there is no search for the REAL killer. It's him and we all know it.

Well...the O.J. thing has nothing to do with whether or not the U.S. court systems works. Essential, it does work but there are some unfortunate circumstances when it fails.

O.J. was acquited because the prosecuting attorneys failed to meet their burden of proof, not because the court system doesnt work. As prosecutors, they must prove that a defendant is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. There were certain issues in the O.J. case that obviously caused enough doubt in the minds of the jurors for them to find him not guilty. It happens.

SIMPLE, there was plenty of reasonable doubt. Did he do it ?? I think so...but as a jury I would had said innocent. Why ??

1- The main detective in fact DID PERJURE himself and was proven to be a racist, so he COULD had planted evidence.

2- Dennis Fung , did contaminate blood and DNA evidence by not using gloves and not using proper procedures to collect evidence

3- The police did in fact enter OJs premises ILLEGALLY

4- The police dept did lose some ccs of blood from the lab, who is to say they did or did not plant it AS THEY HAD done plenty of times before

5- DET vannater Did in fact take some evidence in his car, to his house, till the next day. Why ??

Again. Did Oj did it ?? Hell yeah he did. Was the correct verdict given ? YES IT WAS. There was plenty of REASONABLE DOUBT. As the law indicates.

Because he was not convicted in the criminal trial. He was found guilty in a civil trial, but in a civil trial, prison terms cannot be given.. Of course we have a court system. In my opinion he was guilty, but obviously he was not found guilty by a jury of his peers. Just because we have a court system doesn't mean the selected jury will decide an issue in accordance with our beliefs. And ain't it shame, the bozo belongs behind bars.

I guess you were wrong! He had a jury set on his side and he and the press claimed and yelled racism like they do for everything these days. And here is advice... our government is wack in some cases, and drink apple juice because OJ can kill you!!!! lol

MONEY, the rich can afford the kind of defense he got. The poor would be in jail or dead even if they were not guilty of the crime. Just ask anybody we have the best justice system in the world. Huh.
