Uh, no, there are THREE guitar solos and one Beatles plays each one. I just can't remember who does the first, second and third.

The first solo is Paul, the second is George, the third is John. Their distinct styles are very evident. In fact, it's often theorized (though it's never been verified, to my knowledge) that Eric Clapton actually played Paul's solo. The reason people believe it's Clapton is from the overtly bluesy style of the first solo. The second one has George all over it, and the third one showcases John's typically sloppy style of playing. "The End" also features the one and only Ringo Starr drum solo - Ringo hated solos, and had to be convinced to play this one, on (essentially) the last track on the last Beatles album. (Actually, "Her Majesty" does follow "The End," but it doesn't exactly count in my book).

Also - a quick note to Shelly M. (who answered above): The Doors did indeed do "The End," but so did the Beatles - two different songs. The Beatles' one is on Abbey Road, and it's the finale of the piece that starts with "Sun King," goes on to "Mean Mr. Mustard," followed by "Polythene Pam", which leads to 'She Came in Through the Bathroom Window," segues to "Golden Slumbers," carries on to "Carry That Weight," then ends with "The End."

I really think you got your bands mixed up. I grew up with the Beatles, and still in fact own most of their albums. I suppose it's possible I COULD be wrong, but I doubt it. I don't believe they ever DID a song with that title!

THE DOORS, on the other hand, had a very well-known song called "The End". Could this be what you're thinking of? I know the song, but can't place the guitar solo right off the top of my head, but the Doors' guitarist was Robby Kreiger.

Since the Beatles, of course, were British - and the Doors were an L.A. band, their music really was worlds apart! But they WERE from the same era, so maybe that's what's got you confused....
