I love my black eyeliner by L'OREAL. It's not a pencil, nor liquid. It's like a crayon, kind of. I think it's great, but within a couple of hours, it smudges all under my eyes and causes me to look like I haven't slept in days. Please give me tips on how to keep my eyeliner from smudging!!!
I'm also open to different types of eyeliner, except liquid. So suggestions please!

apply some powder under your eyes that will prevent you from getting sweaty there and having it run.
also id reccomend maybeline smudge proof and water proof eyeliner. (not a pencil its the type you twist up)

I use the liquid eyeliner, it never smudges on me. The only
thing you can do really is to take a look in a mirror once in a
while. That's what I do. Those pencil eyeliners cause smudges,
because there soft. Whereas, a liquid liner dries hard and stays
in place. ( just my humble advice ).

find a black eye shadow and apply it over your eyeliner..that will help keep it from smudging
also, i know you said you are not open to liquid eyeliner which is a shame cause that stays put all day...it is hard to get the hang of but once you do you will love it. Not so easy to use on the bottom lashes, you might still keep the pencil handy for that but its awesome on your top lashes
but also, try a cream eyeliner that you apply with a brush... I like the Merle Norman brand but there are other brands out there that are just as good. Once you apply it, it just takes a few seconds to dry and then you are set for the rest of the day

Go over your eyeliner with a eyeshadow and brush. This is like putting powder on the liner. I have tried almost everything and the new Bobbi Brown eye gel is pretty good. I just have a hard time putting in on straight. So, I use eyeliner first and then the gel. To my amazement, it works..

I use Revlon 16 hour eyeliner and it works really well it never smudges or runs.

wear eyeshadow first before putting on the eyeliner.
for me, i like liquid waterproof eyeliner as it wont smudge and its water proof. hope that helps :)

I don't use it but according to my wife you should powder your face. Facial oils allow the eyeliner to smudge easily.

apply liquid base before you put on the liner. also, you might try a new eyeliner. I use Nicole Miller. It's priceless.
