When the truck get's up to operating temperature it starts to leak coolant from the left top corner of the valve cover; really from the intake. And when I turn on the A/C, it doesn't blow cold; the truck is not drivable (to anyone with some sense), and I'm frightened to take it to Cadillac. Have a field day folks...let me know what to do.

I know the A/C and coolant are two different things. What I'm saying is that when the truck get's to mid point on the coolant gauge, it starts to flow from the intake (looks to be coming from there anyway) manifold. When I'm inside the truck and try to turn on the air, the air just blows normal to warm. The A/C worked before, until the day I was driving the truck with the A/C on and then it started to blow not so cold to the outside temp. I didn't mean to include both situations like one caused the other. The A/C was just something that was working when I was in the truck and it started to run hot.

DON'T LISTEN TO THESE "MAGAZINE MECHANICS" about the A/C problem. If a vehicle is running hot the A/C won't cool as well as it should, even though they are to different systems. I know this for a fact. I am a manager of a auto repair shop in Texas(believe me we know about air conditioning). Before anybody else answering runs their mouth call any reputable repair shop and ask them, not a parts store, but a shop.

AC and coolant are two totally different systems. One would not cause the other to not work. You will need to have someone charge and check the AC. Freon (R134a) is a colorless gas. You need professional equipment to find a leak unless you've had AC work done before. Then there should already be dye in it. It's bright green and glows in the black light. If you're leaking coolant from the intake you need to replace the intake gasket. Go to nascar.com to find a reliable shop in your area.

REPLACE THE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET THAT SHOULD FIX YOUR AF LEAK MAKE SURE THE INTAKE MANIFOLD GETS CHECKED FOR WARPING THAT'S CRITICAL NOT UNCOMMON FOR THEM TO WARP AS FAR AS THE AC HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE AF LEAK PROBABLY NEEDS TO BE RECHARGED
