As long as he/she is growing it should be fine. My daughter is 5 months and sometimes all she wants is 2 oz and then next time she might eat 6 oz. My daughter weighs 15 pounds and the doctor says she is doing really well and is in the 50th percentile. She usually eats about 25-30 oz a day.

My daughter never ate more than six ounces at a time, even at a year old. Despite what her pediatrician said I could never get her to eat more. If he is gaining weight normally I wouldn't worry too much about it. You can try stretching the feedings out, but you may end up suffering more than the baby does.

At this age the baby is supposed to be drinking at least 23-27 ounces of milk per day.... So as long as the baby is growing and seems to be on track with everything else it is just fine.

I think its completly normal, Doctors say that babies know when they are full. My 6 month old son eats 6oz twice a day. But, he eats baby food and drinks juice. Try give your baby juice and or baby food

I know with my son he ate 6-8oz at that age but all kids are different, if your child is experiencing adequate weight gain without complaints from the pediatrician then your child is fine. Maybe you should check with the Ped. about feeding your baby cereal now.

Absolutely, I work at a daycare in an infant room and there are plently of young one's who seem to be at the pace your little one is. He/She will definitely tell you when the time is right for more food. Don't you worry, you'll get the message loud and clear when that time arrives.

Babies know exactly what they need - perhaps sucking is hurting the babies gums b/c they are usually teething at this point - try some whiskey on the gum then feed - see is there is a difference. It works for my babies!

Yes, my little twin cousins are 6 months and still eat that way. Don't rush them, in the least time you know it they will start telling you, that you are going to be a grandpa. Lol. :)

there is no right amount or wrong amount for a child to eat. Every child is different. As long as your child is gaining weight that is satisfactory with the doctor then its all good.
