Blackjack gum. I don't know if they still make it or not. Back in the 1960s, we took gum wrappers and made "love chains." You take the wrappers and fold them into an L shape and then interlink them together to form a chain. It was almost a status symbol to see who could make the longest chain. I have one almost 30 feet long. What was unique about these chains was that the wrappers kept the smell of the gum. So each chain had a combination of all the gum smells put together. It was a smell you can't really describe. But my favorite gum was Blackjack. It had a licorice taste and smell to it. There was a girl in school who I didn't like very much who had long hair. I put a big wad of gum in her hair and they had to cut off her hair to get it out. I got in big trouble for that one!!
