Yes, I support gay marriage.

And I love Jon Stewart; I think he's one of the smartest people in the U.S, today but I doubt he'd run for office.

Much love, though, Jon!!!!

And NO, marriage is NOT a religious or Christian insititution!!!!! You can get married in the United States without religious involvement, by being married by a Judge or Justice of the Peace. Marriage CAN be a religious ceremony but is not required.

Additionally, I think we've grown up from the "eeeew, gays are nasty" comments. Do you know how Junior high you all sound? Grow up.

1. I'm generally conservative, mostly a fiscal conservative, also pro life and against the use of embryonic stem cells in research. But I also am not against "gay" marriage. From the government point of view a marriage is a contract undertaken by adults that creates a legal relationship^. That's it. Nothing more.

Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice was a 1969 movie* (I never saw it). It doesn't matter to me if the groupings are "Bob/Carol & Ted/Alice" or "Bob/Ted & Carol/Alice" or "Bob/Carol/Alice/Ted" or any other combination you'd care to devise. It shouldn't matter to the government. Or to you.

I've heard the argument, "Marriage is for having children". My spouse & I (1 M & 1 F) have been happily married for 28 years ---- 28 out of 36 ain't bad. No children. Are you saying we are not married?

I've heard that the natural order of things is one man and one woman. Not for many cultures and/or religions. I believe that Muslim men may have 4 wives. King Solomon of the bible had a whole apartment building full of them, not to mention his concubines.

I've heard that flavors (such as sage and thyme) can marry. I've heard that companies (AT&T and SW Bell) can marry. So, marriage isn't just for M/F. There are even male and female electrical outlets.

2. I've watched John Stewart a few times. I thought the show amusing for a short while but could be described as one tune with many verses. After a while I wanted a change, so 'click' and he was gone.

3. I just don't see the connection between "gay" marriage and Stewart being in office.

Lol,..You dumbazz liberals just don't get the fact John Stewart is a comedian, do you? And if Hillary ever makes it to prez,(God forbid) guess who he will joke about then? Oh wait, he already does that...Yea, anyway, this may be a shock to you, but The Daily Show is a comedy show, a big reason why its on comedy central. It's not the real news,..Sorry, but someone had to tell you that ..Also, if you ever watch Saturday Night Live, the lil news break they have in there isn't the real news,ok? Just making sure you understand...

Lol, i bet ALL comedians are hoping Hillary wins it,..Good Lord, just think of the material they will have then.....

And btw, i dont support gay marriage

I support gay marriage, simply because it doesnt affect me and I think republicans should stop whining about it as a smokescreen to real issues. The real reason I believe Bush and others are anti-gay marriage is because 1. They don't want gays to have the same benefits 2. They're very predjudiced and think "this is the one thing I can do that gay people can't "
And if you mean Jon Stewart of the daily show, he's a comedian, why don't we find a real candidate.

I support gay marriage, but I dont keep up on current events. I dont even know who John Stewart is.

Either way, not a valid question. You should really be asking

"Do you support gay marriage, if so, why?"

OK BESIDES, I would ignore the poster above who doesnt support gay marriage. This "induhvidual" cant even e-ffin spell. You have no valid standing point on your reasons for being against gay marriage.

ITS A FREE COUNTRY. Why are we trying to restrict it? Free religion practice also, but you dont see Polygamy being legal. Gay marriage is almost the last pedestal between us all being bible thumpers in disguise of 'free citizens' and actually having a voice for everyones personal freedom. ITS PERSONAL CHOICE.

I am so Anti-Bush. Believe me when I say... If I see him in an alley, he wont be leaving it alive.

As long as they pay their taxes, follow the law and are decent citizens and dont bother anyone else, Why the hell are we nosing around in their business?

I just got a letter from Denny Hastert today, defending his support for the Federal Marriage Ammendment, which failed to gain enough support to advance. He vows that they'll be back at it again next session.
But most of his reasons AGAINST gay marriage sound like the same reasons I'd give to SUPPORT gay marriage. Family values, community building, monogamy, healthy lifestyles, etc.

I'd only vote for John Stewart as President if Steven Colbert would be his Vice President.

I'm not sure about Jon Stewart, but I don't see a problem with gay marriage. After all, if the main criticism with gays is that they are promiscous and spread disease, why not want them in long-term relationships. I've been married for almost a decade and I still fail to see how two pwople promising to love each other compromises my marriage.

Ahh the arrogance of the left, to be smart is to be liberal. Despite the fact everytime a liberal gets his hand on an economy he wrecks it...
Anyways I digress. As a conservative I can support civil unions but not marriage? Why? Because its religious in nature, and most religions (et all) are for 1 man and 1 woman. Civil Unions yes, Marriage...never!

Yes, I whole heartedly support gay marriage. Homosexual people should have exactly the same rights at heterosexual people. I have no idea who John Stewart is. I'd say I'm the equivalent to your Liberal, and I'm definitely anti-Bush.

I am firmly against gay marriage; no need to define the institution of marriage down. I also cannot stand Jon Stewart. He's great to watch if you're an induhvidual.
