Well, I get -356058666, from my interperetation of what you said, although I'm not really sure what the question is. For instance: when you say divided in half, do you mean divided /in/ half, or divided by two?
I think your teacher is trying to make the questions harder to compensate for the fact that everyone has kick-*** calculators these days, but isn't really smart enough to do it. Go back to your teacher and ask them to explain what they're on about.
Edit: cool, in the time I typed that 3 people answered with 3 different answers. BTW Newsgirlinos, the point of scientific notation is to express large numbers in a small area, this objective can't be acheived when you use 8 decimal places. Doing things like that just makes you look like someone who is trying to look smart, but in reality isn't far beyond high school.

((98 x 56) / 23) - ((78 x 45 x 34) / 2) = -59 431.3913
-59 431.3913x-59 431.3913
-59 431.3913 x -59 431.3913 = 3.53209027 Ã 10to the9th
Doesn't anyone learn math anymore?

Are you kidding? I couldn't even read the question without needing help. What are you, a 3rd year math student at Harvard?!

It is really simple. Where are you stuck? I don't mind helping but I won't do your homework for you as you won't learn anything that way.
