treat like an equation

a+2 > 0 subtract 2 from both sides
a > -2

Solution set = { a | a > -2 }
written out "The solution set is a such that a is greater then -2"

a/ (a+2) > 0
multiply both sides by (a+2)
(a+2)a / (a+2) >0 (a+2)
since 0(a+2)=0
then (a+2)a / (a+2) > 0

since (a+2)/(a+2) = 1
then (a+2)a / (a+2) = a
therefore a > 0

i'm a little confused on the wording of your question so here are both of my takes on your problem:

if it says a/a+2 >0 then:
a+2(a/a+2)> 0 (a+2)=
A>0

or if it is a+2 > 0
a+2-2> 0-2=
a>-2

hope i helped you out!!
