Why do people think soccer in boring?

and don't say cuz it is. that pisses me off. i want a legit reason.

In America, basketball is a preferred sport because the score ends up being 88-76 or something like that. Then, they don't like soccer cuz some games are 0-0 and some are 1-0 etc... Americans don't appreciate a good pass, a good run and the sort of thing that europeans seem to like. Obviously they're too stupid to appreciate a show of skill that may or may not result in points being scored.

The reason soccer is boring is that there is not enough scoring or scoring opportunities. It is hard for the casual sports fan to sit and watch a game for 3 hours where a team might score only once. I know I can't stand watching it, and I am saying this as a guy who runs soccer leagues

I think that people think soccer is just boring to watch. Maybe once people PLAYING soccer, they will like it better.

because we would rather not sit around for a good while and watch about 1-5 goals scored. and the 5 was a generous number. blame tigar woods for golf being more popular, he has a huge following, baseball is just Americas past time so it is a big part of sports in out country. American football is popular for its hard hitting and the strategy involved, each play is full speed etc. Nascar is an aquired sport which i happen to love, but its because i grew up around it. hope any of this helps.

i guess it's because they think all you do is kick a ball around a field and run round just to get all sweaty and discusting. But it's not true. soccer is a very competitive sport. You have to be very talented to play. Everyone i know who plays put their whole heart into the game and really loves it.

I think those that find it boring don't understand the nuances of the game. Those of us that appreciate a fine match rarely call a game boring. While I support MLS and my DC United, I watch international matches at every opportunity. I was fortunate enough to attend the AC Milan-Chelsea match that was held here in Philly at Lincoln Financial Field August of 2005. I was in the 12th row of a corner section to the right of the AC Milan goal at the start of the match and it was a wonderful sight.

Not enough scoring - that is the main reason, really.

Other reasons: The players look like ants on TV, there are too many ties, players fall down a lot and pretend to be injured, the clock never stops, counts up, and they keep playing even when the clock runs out (injury time), and finally people may have never played it so they can't relate to it (especially the part about not using your hands).

here is why I find it boring 1 the field to big 2 just like Hockey there is not allot of scoring. but unlike hockey they don't have sticks and they are not on ice.3 the timing is all mess up put in a clock like they have in all the other sport stop it then maybe you might have a better sport that people might watch

Soccer is bigger than all the American sports put together in fact it is bigger that all sports put together. When your team scores a goal you know it is something to savour as it doesn't happen every 30 seconds so you get to go crazy, the adrenalin rush is out of this world. When it is an important goal no slamdunk,toutchdown or home run can ever come close!!!

because they don't show major league soccer on t.v. and in the FIFA world cup, U.S.A. always lose.
