The next partial solar eclipse visible from Atlanta, Georgia, will be May 20, 2012. The sun will set while partially eclipsed, so it should be a spectacular view.

The next total solar eclipse visible from northern Georgia will be August 21, 2017. Totality will miss Atlanta, but not by much; you won't have far to travel.

The next total solar eclipse visible from Atlanta, without moving a muscle, will be May 11, 2078.

The link I gave is the calendar of the solar and lunar eclipses. It appears that there won't be one in the US until after 2007.
