Sorry, but it's 'WAKE up and smell the COFFEE' and 'STOP to SMELL the ROSES'. And I do stop..every chance I get.

I think the expression is "wake up and smell the coffee". The other expression is "don't forget to stop and smell the flowers".
Both expressions are generally considered to be good advice.
If you need to "wake up and smell the coffee", then you're probably under some kind of misconception and need to see things for how they really are.
"Stopping to smell the flowers" is a good idea so that you can enjoy life and not only focus on responsibilities or negative thoughts.
"Waking up to smell the flowers" would also be a good idea since it implies that you don't even know that the flowers are there and that you need to "wake up" and realize that life has its joys to be appreciated.

Oh, for cryin' out loud NO! When I first wake up in the morning, the last thing I want to do is be forced to smell a bouquet of anything except fresh coffee and slightly burnt toast!

Yes! I'd love to wake up and smell the flowers! I'd love to smell lilacs and roses.

No, not really. There are so many other things I would rather do after I wake up. I would rather wake up and smell the sugar cookies baking. That would make me happier.

Yes. My dream... my purpose, is to wake up...
If we could really wake up, each flower would be the entire Universe!

Yes. It's a choice between accepting the mediocre world you live in, the monotonous situations and dull repetitions of life, and seeing the world for how it truly is, experiencing everything as if it is the first time, really enjoying life. If given the choice, I would take it without hesitation.

How do you know, until you try?
Some of us are so content to stay in our own muck, in our own stink. We are afraid to try anything new. We are like pale bloated creatures which hide under a log or under a stone.
Dare to be. Dare to be different. Choose life.

No...flowers make me sneeze...lol.
But if you're asking in a not-so-literal way - then yes. We all need a wake-up call now and then.
