I can tell you that I have been in the summer while school is out and there are mass lines. you can avoid them a bit if you are willing to pay a bit more for the fast pass on your tickets. We went two years ago the first week of June and it was great weather and the parks were busy but not unbearable. We are going this year the middle of September and not only got great deals on airfare but park tickets and for some of the shows especially the Arabian Nights. If you have time to browse and plan you can check all the online ticketing agencies but you can normally talk with a travel agent and they can get you the same if not better deal. Look on ebay too, there are plenty people that have tickets that have changed plans and need to get some of the $$ back. There are some differences in the parks that are open and the daily hours so make sure the parks you want to go to are open when you plan to go. They also will tell you what sections of the park may be in renovation and unavailable at the time you will be there. One good book we bought for Disney was the Birnanbaums Guide, wefound it at a Disney Store but I would think Boarders or Waldenbooks would carry it as well as many other options. The one we had was very informative about ride requirements and times. Some of the Disney Hotels have specials for the "off-season" so you get a whole package with hotel, theme park tickets, and several include vouchers to be used for food in the parks at certain eateries. We had found most of the hotels in the park oriented to kids were comparable with their offers. It was going to be $3000 for 10 days with park hopper passes and about $600 worth of food vouchers for a family of three (our daughter is 5) The only reason we didn't do this was the timeshare the family owns was available and it saves us money in the long run. You may find that useful as well there may be people renting their weeks for a decent price. I know there are many within minutes drive time to the parks. However it works out for you have fun and don't overplan. There is tons you will find outside the parks to do and may feel obligated after buying tickets to go to the parks everyday.

I was a manager in a theme park so I'll give you the general run down for each month:
Jan: don't go early in the month, people are on holiday breaks still... the 15th of Jan- Feb is great!
Feb: most of the month is great! not too many tourists!
Mar-May: avoid spring break times (usually around Easter) and the end of May when schools usually get out. All other times during these months are wonderful!
June-August: avoid the parks like the plague! WAY too many people, and it's HOT HOT HOT!
Sept-Nov: Great time to go! Just avoid Thanksgiving week!
December: OK early on, but the closer you get to Christmas, the busier it gets!
*As a rule of thumb, it's best to visit theme parks during the week. Tuesdays tend to be the slowest days. It's also not a bad idea to avoid parks during long weekends. Locals tend to flood parks at those times!
Hope it helps!

The weather's probably the best in the fall, say October. The parks are not empty, but not packed either, I'd say comfortably full. The parks are usually empty in September, May and December (the first half). Those are also the times of year that the deepest discounts apply. Hope this helps.

January. The days are sunny and cooled with a nice breeze and at night it is light jacket weather. After winter break there are barely any lines at all. You can go on Space Mountain without a Fastpass and the line is about 10 minutes long, compared to the hour you have to wait at peak times.
The hotels have really low rates too.

I have been in the summer, early December, and September.
Summer was HOT and CROWDED!!!
September is nice - the weather is still pretty hot, but the crowds are not bad at all.
December is nice because they have everything decorated for Christmas - and we went the first week in December -so it wasn't crowded then either - I have heard that the week of Christmas is the worst time to go, but if you go earlier in the month - you still get to enjoy the festive atmosphere without the crowds.

In the late fall to early spring, but mainly in winter. That's when it will be the least busy... and South/Central Fla winters ain't all that bad, believe me... best would be fall or spring if you want to stay away from any cool weather, though.
These times will also be the cheaper times... if you look at ticket prices, you will find that the less expensive the tickets, the less busy the parks will be.

good question i have been there 3 times in the last 4 years at all different times
1st time June it was hot very crowded, magic kingdom .
2nd time April, this first 4 days were so cold it was depressing. each day was around 50 back home in MN was 80. It was moderately crowded spring break.
3rd time late January PERFECT time. they did have above normal temps always in the 80's. low crowdeds besides one day at the magic kingdom. i would recommend going in January.
you will have fun.

I like going in October or Novenber. Not as many people and the weather is very nice. Not too hot, but still very nice (70's) plus the humidity is usually out of there by then.
