it doesnt matter what kind of bag you have. I like the sling messenger is more for girls

Just go with what's more comfortable. I used to have a messenger bag, but it hurt my shoulder too much from putting too much weight on one side, so I went back to a regular old backpack. Yeah, I know they're not in style anymore, but I think they work better.
I'm about to be a senior in high school, and honestly, petty decisions like "what kind of trendy bag I should keep my textbooks in" make no difference in your level of 'coolness'. Plus, especially in high school, nobody likes the popular kids except the other popular kids. Trust me on this one.
So I say go with whichever one you like best, is the most comfortable, and the most durable.
