It's kind of hard to say at this point. It's a very interesting concept and story arc, with limitless possibilities. I wasn't REAL impressed with the first issue, but #2 wasn't so bad.

It's going to take some time to introduce all of the new characters and bring them to life, so you just have to be patient with the series. I think it will be a great comic as long as they continue to try to be original.

Truth is, I think that it has the potential to be the best of all the Star Wars comics because it is set so far out in the future that they shouldn't run into continuity problems.

As far as the Empire being the good guys? You have to understand that the Empire went through a lot of changes after the time of the Galactic Civil War. Have you read any of the novels? There's a lot in those that would show how it evolved. Especially during after the Hand of Thrawn series and during the new Jedi Order series. I've read the first two issues and the issue zero.

I think the series works much better knowing the background given in issue zero. I'm a little bummed that the story zips forward past Luke Skywalker's time, but it's still early. Ostrander can be a great writer when he gets going.

Personally, I think the government takeover at the end of issue 1 (I'm trying not to have spoilers, so I'm being as vague as I can) was way too simple to work in the "real" world. Except for that point, I enjoyed the story.

The covers by Adam Hughes are great, and the interior art is top-notch. I'm looking forward to the upcoming issues.

As an aside, I have all the Marvel Star Wars issues. Re-reading them years later as an adult, I find some of the stories (does anybody remember the cyborg bounty hunter besides me??) to be excellent. Star Wars fans should pick up the trades that reprint them. And don't forget the reprints of the Star Wars newspaper strip by Archie Goodwin and Al Williamson. Archie was a great writer, and Al's art was never better. He and Alex Raymond were the only artists who ever got Flash Gordon right.

From what I've read, it appears to be a very good story arc. Glad they placed the story line beyond new jedi order ( so this is what like 80 years after the return of the jedi ). Not sure how long it will run. I thought the writing and art were very good. I think Darkhorse has done a top notch job.

so far i only have the first two issues, how ever i like it and its a 137 years after the battle of yavin, i also like how cade skywalker is a mix of both anakin and luke, however there are to many sith and possibly there will be another sith war, i think its weird though how every one is trained in the jedi arts, but so far it is good

look into the better universe novel, memories of the Bounty Hunters. It got here out lengthy previously attack of the Clones, so there's a diverse backstory, even if it does bypass into this concern. chuffed examining! MTFBWY

To answer your question..... neat premise with poor execution.
To answer the people who are confused.... this isn't a t.v. series. He is reffering to a comic.
