they have the technology to grow plants in the desert, its just not cost effective.. but the world doesnt have a ton of extra fresh water...what if we used that technology to turn africa into a huge farm feild and pumped in water from the oceans...all we would need to do is design food the grows off salt water, or find a way to change the way salt effects these plants. Is that impossible? It seems possible, just really expensive? catch a man a fish feed him a week, teach him to fish feed him for life. instead of aid money (band aid solution) lets invest in third world countries and make them self sufficient? lets hear what u have to say...cheers

I know there is enough food, im talking investing in africa, or a small country will a government u can trust/ppl that arent always in civil war/war lords. ur right the governtments wont...but what about bill gates...they have pledged like 30billion? I like to think thats enough to make this possible...atleast in a small scale

I hear you and agree BUT you seem to think the world is lacking in food? There is plenty of food in this world to feed all the starving everyday several times a day. The imperialist dont want Africa to be self-sufficient. They want to continue to impoverish those ppl and keep them under control while they rob all their natural resources.

Financial assistance and technology should be shared to the less productive nations in order to irrigate lands with saltwater. It is a noble idea but the implementation needs political will.
