I've been concerned about global warming since I could first comprehend what it was. And that was in the '80s when everyone was using aquanet. It was ulcer-inducing!
I do what I can. I walk to and from work whenever possible, I try to have the least amount of impact on the environment that I can, while still maintaining a certain level of comfort.
Once I stop renting I plan to supplement grid power with green energy sources.
To Jenny, a few posts up: The world doesn't have room for one Anne Coulter, let alone two. Why not gather evidence and support for your views, rather than trying to poison the well of the opposition.
And to Jack F, a few posts below me: global warming can actually trigger glaciation in some areas of the world. For instance if, through rapid warming, the Atlantic conveyor broke down it would cause massive glaciation in northern Europe.

Global warming is just a myth. Scientists have been debating if it exists for years now. No one seems to have come up with a definite answer. But I believe it is a myth. Some kids at, I believe it was, MIT did a little research and discovered it is just a phase the earth goes through every 10,000 years or so. But, they tell you "We discovered this in not a phase. Nothing like this has happened in the last 2000 years." Key words: LAST 2000 YEARS. Sure, we may be contributing a little to the atmospheres pollution, but it's not our fault. It's just the government trying to scare us.

I share your concern. I am trying to do the best that I can and encourage everyone around me to do the same. It is frustrating because everywhere you go you see people being blissfully ignorant consumers. Americans are under the illusion that this is a political thing and it is not. It is a scientific fact. Many other countries have began to take action while most Americans are still listening to the man in cowboy boots instead of well respected, ivy league educated scientists.

I dont really even call it global warming. I call it climate change. The earth's climate has been constantly changing from the beginning. We have iceages, and it melts away. Its all natural. I remember 20 years ago when scientists were warning of the coming iceage. These are the same scientists that are now warning of global warming.
Just follow the money. Whoever is paying, and what those people want scientist to say, is exactly what these scientists will say.

I care. I'm trying a lot of things to help my share of pollution and global warming. But I have to say, there's not enough people like you and me to save the earth. I ride my bike and I try to limit driving as much as possible. I also recycle. I really don't want animals and other innocent people to suffer because some many people are so ignorent.

I do. What annoys me about it is the right wing's attempts to dismiss it a bunch of liberal scare tactics and statements like "It's a theory that has been widely discredited" - there is overwhelming evidence that it's happening, and still same line. It's so frustrating to see people who are so sure everything the White House and Fox news puts out are the truth, even in the face of mountains of data that says otherwise.

The goverments of the world should be the main caretakers of the Globe, but they are too busy on their every day cares and wars, specially U.S. which is the main polluter. In 30 or 40 years we will wake up but then it will be too late. Like you said there is very little awareness about the problem in the general public.

It's up to the next generation to deal with it.
Remember, it's a verrrry slooooow process. If it takes a hundred years for the oceans to rise a foot, then we will just move back from the edge of the ocean. It's not a big problem.

There is no such thing as global warming
It is a democratic fantasy led by al gore. If you remember back in the 1970's, the gloom and doom democrats were yelling ice age. We were going to have another ice age because all the pollution we were releasing was going to cause smog which would block the suns rays and we were all going to freeze over in another ice age.
Well???? Where is our ice age????
Now, the democratic idiots are yelling global warming!!!!
In 30 years they'll go back to yelling ice age again.
VOTE REPUBLICAN and throw gore, hillary, and bill into prison where they belong.

This country is full of idiots that only care about what immediately affects them and nothing else. If they think someone else later down the line can worry about it then why should they? Yes, I care, but our government sucks.
