go to eyeslipsface.com and youll find any brush for a dollar each, and its good quality i just recently bought alot of makeup from there and i love it. (once you go to the website go to shop elf, and then tools)

You don't need an entire brush set. You need an eyeshadow brush, the softer the better, a blush brush, and really, I can't think of anything else that is a must have -- maybe a lip brush.
Don't be fooled by those girls at the mall who tell you that you must have it to do the job right. They are trying selling you something.
Foundation brushes soak up so much foundation that you will wash half of your bottle down the sink. Using your fingers is far more effective, both application wise, and cost wise.
All the contour brushes, etc., they don't do anything any different than a tissue would do. And all the different eye brushes, you need to be Picasso or Monet to accomplish the tricks that people can do with those.
I used to be a Christian Dior makeup artist. I never tried to sell people stuff that they didn't need, even though it would have made me a ton of money.
Aside from all of that, you can get good makeup brushes at a beauty supply store.

Go to an art supply store and get paintbrushes. You can get high quality paint brushes for a fraction of the price of "make-up" brushes but its really the same thing.

affordable? go to an ulta store, and check out the cheapest brushes. if you want REALLY good quality, get some bobby brown brushes their gr8 but a little pricey.

Avon deff. The have different types of brush sets and they are deff. wicked affordable.
And they last a long time.
