Winamp has the best visuals, streams and play most formats, WMP10 if you want to keep a factory player installed.

VLC media player. It plays ANYTHING. Music, avi, mpg, dvd... you name it, and it plays it. Get it from cnet. If you want something for music and is pretty and skinnable, then WinAmp.

VLC by far.. It plays everything and anything.. Whats really cool is you can stream music or videos to other computers on your network.. VLC all the way..
