We went to the world-famous Egyptian theatre in Hollywood to see a double-feature as part of "Mods and Rockers" week (a tribute to 1960s "free-spirit" filmmaking) just recently. The first film was a known classic: Easy Rider, from 1969-great watching it on such a big screen.
It was the second film that was too much. It starred Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper-the main characters in Easy Rider, and also had Bruce Dern in it as well. It was called "the Trip" (1967)-the plot being an ad executive's first acid trip. I used to trip years ago and, although they got close to conveying a few things inherent in the acid experience, it was mostly flashy camera tricks / a really wierd music soundtrack (unlike the classic tunes in "Rider") played too loud-my friend and I walked out with about 30 minutes left so as to avoid further headache!

Never at the movies but my family walked out on the Payback (Mel Gibson) and went into "universal soldier" which was way worse.
I stopped watching Basic Instincts 2 on the second chapter.

If wandering off to get snacks to keep myself awake counts, then "Planet of the Apes", the Markie Mark version. I've fallen asleep once (Lord of the Rings) and come close to walking out (King Kong) but never actually did it because I paid for that seat, I'm damn well going to warm it until my time's up no matter how boring the movie.

The Patriot.

The violence seemed too graphic and over-done to me.

When the British soldier blew out the brains of the Colonist's child, and all the chunks of flying gore were graphically displayed, it suddenly occurred to me that I had a CHOICE - to remain in my seat and watch, or to get up and walk out.

I walked.

I did not ask for my money back. I paid for the opportunity to see the film. I was the one who chose not to take that opportunity.

Never walked out on one simply because if I pay to see a movie I watch it because I want to watch it not because someone tells me it`s great.
I have however fallen asleep while watching one at the cinema - Michael Jackson`s Moonwalker - didn`t pay for that one luckily.

I asked for my money back after I saw 13 Ghosts. I would have walked out but my girlfriend at the time was with me.
