Hello,

back in 2004 my girlfriend began having problems getting her menstrual cycle at that time she was going through some major stresss. Anyhow 2006 her gynecologists told her to have a surgery to get her period restored. Since then nothing has changed her period hasnt comed back and shez still under stress. On her last Doc appt her gynecologists asked her if she plans on having kids in the future, she said yes and he told her to make me get a sperm analysis..I did N all of a sudden her problems became mine. I had no idea how to do a sperm anaylsis test so I jus went into and found out later I didnt follow none of the instructions because her doc never gave us ANY to begin with. Now Iam in a position of gettin tested for infertility I had 3 sperm analysis testing, my hormones were tested it was fine. had an ultrasound and the doc said I have dilated ducts in my scrotal sac but hes not sure if thats causing a problem because my testes are normal in size. Any Advice will be good.Thks

hon, you both need to see another Dr. This one sounds like a horses *** that won't listen...I am a firm believer that there is a special place in hell for Dr.'s who don't listen to their patients. Is this the same Dr. who told your GF to have the surgery to restore her cycle? How the hell can surgery restore that??? Never heard of that one, (sister in law says time to go to another Dr. and start over).

There's some possibilities in your problem.

From your girlfriend's side:
1. She's got a dysfunctional menstrual bleeding. Which means a abnormal menstruation without any underlying disease including psychological cause.
2. The abnormality can be caused by the stress too. Maybe she might consult herself to psychiatryst or someone who you both think can solve the stress problem.
3. Maybe there's an underlying disease that both of you (and the gynie) don't recognize. You need a second opinion for that.

For your problem in sperm testing:
1. I guess you just go for the test, and they will tell you what to do, what to prepare. The gynie should have told you what to do, but if not, the paramedics could also help you. So just go for it. Nothing to stress about, because the more you get stressed on your test, the less possibilities of you to get a good test result
2. About anything else... I guess you need a second opinion from other doctors, instead of pegged on one doctor. Doctor is still a human who can do wrong.

First, if she's been your girlfriend since 2004 (or before) then her problems are already your problems. If you feel the tests on your sperm cells are invasive, don't have them done.

Find out if her method of birth control is causing the irregularity in her cycles, and pinpoint the cause of this chronic stress.
