no clue. what are you towing? what are you towing it with? you can rent one from uhaul(hauls up to 3500# or you can buy a tow dolly(I think around 1300-1500. If you plan to tow something like a suburban you need a big horse and they make a dolly, but it's expensive. You can buy,again with the buy, a "brake buddy" that will allow you to utilize the towed vehicles brakes when you hit the brakes. BUT, back to the first question. what're you towin and whater you towin it with?"

Ditto with what is/was already said---

Brakes are used if you are towing something heavy (or heavier than the tow vehicle) If you are towing a dump truck with a ford escort then YES get the brakes / but hte other way around and the dump truck will not notice the extra weight -- that is the deciding factor if you need brakes or not -- the next considertation is where you are towing, lots of traffic will heat the brakes up even more (IE: make them quit working).
