I love it when idiots like John Kerry who propose that we only tax the rich. Every tax payer in this country, including the wealthy, deserve a tax break. The more taxes you pay, the bigger break you should get. And lest you think I'm rolling in dough, my family's yearly income is only about $30,000/year.
Don't you understand that the wealthy, by the very fact that they ARE wealthy, support the lower classes?
Look at it this way. The rich guy who builds the obnoxious mansion on the hill still employs the contractor who builds the house, the brick maker who supplies the brick, the cement guys, the wood framers, the window makers, the tile setters, the window dressers, the wall paper hangers, the nursuries that grow the trees, flowers and grass for his obnoxious yard, the landscaper, the maids, the chauffer, the dog walker, the nanny, etc., and all those people make a wage that they pour back into the economy, whether it's to buy Pepsi and Levis or whether it's to keep other people employed, like the seamstress who makes their clothes or the lawn mower repair man who keeps the landscaper's equipment working.
I really take exception to your comment about helping the weakest element and people waiting around for their welfare check. You obviously have never been in a position of need, but you can be sure that what goes around comes around, and the mercy that you show the least of these is the same mercy that will be given to you.

many states do not have welfare. the problem is teaching people to fish not hand them a fish. and truth is easier for some govt agencies- social services to hand out fish.
helping someone- like a woman who's husband skipped and left her with a bunch of kids get training and work to support them all is hard. giving them a check and a boot in the butt is easier.
see how your local social programs work and don't work. if they don't teach fishing maybe you should be contacting your mayor, board of supervisors, senators and congress.
the social programs are broken and the Republicans have made so many cuts in past some new monies are too little too late. why do you think homelessness is increasing so quickly. i live in a very republican wealthy county. 19 shelters mostly for families and rehab. and over 20,ooo homeless. if you are sick or disabled how do you overcome both problems?
to survive in the streets is horrible but you cannot be lazy.

Actually, the democratic party isn't the ones expanding the federal aid programs at the largest rate since FDR. Most of these go to the top 3% income wise or large multi-national companies
The last social welfare programs were cut by Clinton (but expanded by Bush).
As reported by TIME magazine, the average welfare recipiant is a high school graduate, divorced, white mother who is working to support two kids.

I think there should be a law that all ignorant uneducated ppl, like yourself, should be required to join the military and fight on the front lines.
Ppl like you are what is going to make us a 3rd world country. Ppl like you would prefer that the elderly, the disabled like handicap ppl, or some wife with 3 kids whose husband just die, live under bridges.
FYI, a person can only receive welfare a maximum of 3 to 5 years throughtout your lifetime depending on what state you are in. And also, in my state, if you do not have children YOU GET ZERO WELFARE.
Grow up!!

No one wants that, some people just want to end homelessness and starving in America. Rich people should not pay more taxes, they should stay the same, but the money shouldn't go to NSA wiretaps or war, it should go to programs that set up ways to give these poor people jobs, or to put a roof over their heads.

why do Republicans want to knock Darwinism out of schools yet use it to support their social ideas?
well... your question assumes that everyone on welfare and poor are lazy... which is the fundamental flaw in your statement...
anyone who has ever been poor is aware that they work very hard...
you should be thankful you have grown up in such a sheltered environment and that you don't know the troubles of the poor... but you also shouldn't talk about things that you clearly have no idea about...

Get a good, sturdy rope. Tie a loop in one end. Slip it over your neck. Throw the rope over a tree branch. Hang yourself.
There. Now I feel better because I just helped Clean Up America

If we slowed it down to the weakest element we'd all die. The only reason we are here RIGHT NOW is that the strongest element survived.
