Most of these are reasonable sources, unfortunately none of them really help with picking out the right words that will help you draw attention to your particular proposal and thus ultimately, will put you at risk of not getting the funding fast you would need! What you need is a list of words for grants that will help you stand out among the rest and make your writing excel and a good source is, jessegilbert.com/grants/

I don't know what sites you've been looking at, but I found these helpful:
http://www.npguides.org/
http://www.drcharity.com/grants.html
There are also tons of sites for specific types of grants, like government grants, education grants, nonprofit grants, and more. Narrow down the type of grant you want to write.
I've done a lot of grant writing myself -- all of them successfully funded -- but learned by working with experienced grant writers at nonprofits. They really taught me how to write a winning proposal by focussing the grant and giving specific details. You might try volunteering to work on grants for local organizations first.

It would help to know why you are writing the grant. Once you know this, I would seek out the nearest non-profit organization to find their grant writer and ask questions. It is better to find the cause that you would like to support first. Grant writing is easier if you know the cause that you wish to support.
