Because lions need to eat antelopes to survive. Plus Would you try to attack a lion with a rock? The Lion will end up eating your *** instead of the antelope. How would U like it if some one threw a rock at you while you were eating your hamburger or if you are a vegetarian if someone threw a rock at you while you were eating your tofu salad. Plants have a heartbeat too. So unless you survive solely on water. You should leave the pore lion alone.

I know exactly how you feel because I feel the same way. Once there was an hour special about a lion that adopted a baby antelope (I think it was an antelope) and the poor animal wound up starving to death. I got so mad at the cameramen because the animal suffered for weeks.

The clue to the right answer to this question is in the category you decided to put this question in. A deer is not a pet. Your question really should be in the Science>Zoology category. Then we would see it for what it is, a documentary on a particular type of animal, how it lives, what it eats, etc. Usually these type of programs have warnings at the beginning so that you don't have to watch it if it disturbs you. God created carnivores, and I guess if we want to learn about his creatures, this is what we must learn.

when you stop and mcdonalds for a hamburger I am gonna through a rock at you.
That lion has not eaten in days and you want the camera man to throw rock at him. Uugh no. That equals tasty camera man. The lions are not built to eat grass so the deer is the best choice. Also this makes natural selection keep working. The weak do not last.

It's the way of life... people don't stop each other from shooting a deer and then eating it, or even just leaving it there.

What if the lion didn't get the deer? It might starve, or maybe it had children to feed, so the cubs would die as well.

it's really disturbing at times, but at least animals don't do it for sport, they do it to survive. I bet you that camera man has eaten his fare share of animals before.

The lions would starve and die. Then, ironically, the gazelles would too. Without lions to keep the number of gazelles down, the gazelles would quickly overpopulate and then there would be a huge and horrible gazelle famine. This has happened in parts of the world where predators were eliminated, such as in the US, where wolves are all but a memory, leaving the deer to be starve due to overpopulation (or be hunted by vicious rednecks).

Because preventing the lion from eating the other animal would prevent the lion from getting the food it needs to survive. The lion would starve to death. What a cruel fate for a lion! Let the lion eat; it's the natural order of things...it's called the food chain.

Sad as it is, that's what happens in nature. The food chain as they call it. And it is natural for the lions or whatever to hunt down and kill another animal to eat. I know we think it is sad and I personally can't watch those shows, but that's how it is in the real world. You cannot disturb the ways of nature.

The camera man is not there to express somekind of political opinion. They are simply there to capture natural occurences on film. Sorry you don't like seeing animals eating other animals, but that is what happens. If you hate it, don't watch animal planet.

I know this is sad to see but lions and other big cats have to hunt for their food. They do not have someone to buy it and feed it to them unless they live in a zoo.
