Magnetic Resonant Imaging Scanning or more commonly known as an MRI scanner works on the principle of Electromagnetic waves by sending radio wave pulses into the patients body and determines what kind of tissue it is, or at least distinguishes between the different tissues types.

If you mean in your question are Electromagnetic waves harmful then generally no if you are not exposed to them for any length of time, also the radio waves need to be very small to have any effect on the human body.

Hope this helps

Cheers!
