This is a country that is completely surrounded by hostile neighbors who have attacked more than once in the last thirty-forty years all five countries. It's civilians do not walk down the street or step on to a bus without fear of it blowing up. They have endured almost being exterminated during World War II; They have endured constant terrorism since it became a nation.
Have you ever had someone shooting at you or lived with that kind of fear every day of your life?
Israel made an agreement to give back all land seized when those same five nations attacked and lost. As long as The Hamas and Hezbolah laid down it's arms... this never happened...all bets are off and they will turn Lebanon into a parking lot.
They suffered scud strikes during the first Gulf War and stayed out of it againist there better judgement at our request to prevent escalation. You seem very judgemental in the complete safety of your Moms basement borrowing her computer.

Israel is the size of New Jersey. They are completely surrounded by entire countries that want to see them destroyed.
What if the rest of America wanted to destroy New Jersey? Its the same thing.
Israel deals with terrorism on a daily basis that even America would have trouble withstanding.
And if the entire arab world were to disarm tomorrow, there would be the closest thing to world peace the world has ever seen.
BUT - if ISRAEL disarmed tomorrow - there would be another holocaust TOMORROW.
Its really that simple.
So......
Keep all this in mind before you go bashing the only civilized secular democratic, non-muslim SOVERIGN nation in the middle east.
Otherwise, I suggest you go join the arab nations- and get your *** kicked by America or Israel in the process.
It may suit you.

Ok...picture this....2 people come over your fence, 2 come in your front door, 2 dig a tunnel to your basement and take 3 hostages and kill 2 of them....

...then you find out that the police are in on this (General Kofi Annan ) and your neighbors are supplying them with ammunition and guns....(Iran and Syria)
and would if you decide to try and negotiate and give up some of your property and money (ie Lebanon and Gaza) ...and they still are not satisfied?.....
...would you think deadly force was an only option...

Not really. Yes, they have WMD, and I am not here to defend that. However, unlike Iran they do not use every opportunity to tell the world how they will eliminate an entire country or group of people. I fear a nuclear Iran much more than a nuclear Israel.

It has become clear to me that this poster “whatisinhotdogs” is clearly Anti-Israel. All you have to do is look at the questions that he asks to realize that he does not believe that Israel has the right to defend herself.
He is quick to condemn Israel and the supporters of Israel he has absolutely nothing bad to say about the Islamic Jihad, the Hezbollah and the Hamas organizations who not only try to kill all Jews, but also try to kill all Americans, Canadians, Australians, English, Germans and any other free-world democratic nation that believes in true human rights and also acknowledges Israel’s right to Existence.
He seems to have no problems with Americans, Italians, Germans and Israelis being kidnapped, beheaded, or seriously injured by terrorists but he has a major problem when Israel retaliates from terrorist attacks.
He is not interested in the civilized approach of negotiating peace - he will not be happy until many more Jews, Arabs, Americans and other innocent people die at the hands of death-loving, peace hating terrorists who would have no qualms about killing him if their paths ever crossed.
I have not given up hope that he can learn peace, tolerance and acceptance but it is clearly lacking right now.

On NBC the coverage is fairly balanced. But you have to remember that Hezbollah has killed hundreds of Americans. How many Americans has Israel killed?
You have to know who are your friends and who are your enemies if you want to survive. Certainly, Hezbollah is no friend of America. Israel is a friend of America.
If you watched the Arab media then you would see the opposite bias because they are friends with Hezbollah.

And Hezbollah, and Hamas, and Fatah? They have been just sittin' around, minding their own business? Bending over backwards to bring about peace?
If Canada and Mexico were doing to the US, or whoever the neighbors of whatever country you live in, were doing what these groups have been doing to Israel for 60 years, the US, or whatever country you live in, would do the same and you would not criticize it for it.

what about the Hezbollah? they have been hit Israel for for year and the U.N. and people like you say nothing and as soon as Israel starts to defending them selves then people like you start whimpering.

Hezbollah started the battle.Hezbollah uses people as human shields.Hezbollah strategically gets civilian killed so weenies like you start whimpering.The Hezbollah are the bad guys.Hezbollah is killing citizens in Israel.Hezbollah started this fight and I hope the Israelis ends it with the total inhalation of the Hezbollah terrorist.
