My favorite comedy is The Big Lebowski. It is one of those movies when you watch it the first time you don't like it because you didn't know what to expect, but the next thousand times you watch it you are rolling on the floor bursting into tears.

"Slapshot" with Paul Newman. That is one of the funniest comidies out there from back in the 70's.
Another comedy, I think, would be a "sketched" comedy, like the "Kentucky Fried Chicken" movie.
They are both from the 70's, but they are good.
