Of course you can die of any infection but it would have to be severe to cause death.
Buy disposable razors that are made for ladies and when the razor starts to pull, discard it and use a new one. Take more time and try to learn how to shave. It takes some practice. I know they make electric razors for girls but I do not know how good they are.
You can also let your mother's boyfriend shave you and it will be more fun. Or you can stop shaving and just have your hair put up in little braids.

An electric razor will solve the problem.
There might be special ladies' razors on the market--but knowledge of those is on the edge of my awarenes.
Generally a razor will cut if there is the slightest movement sideways---as I learned when shaving beard. I can apprecisate that reaching around your legs might be awkward and sideways motion hard to avoid.
A healthy immune system can withstand repeated minor cuts. If an infection starts, then see a doctor.

I really doubt it's true.
I'd use shaving cream for women and maybe a razor like the Shick intuition.
Also, try to shave lighter and just go over it twice if you have too.
Lotion mixed in with soap is better then plain soap if that's the only available resources.

I usually hack my legs to pieces too.. have for years...
the thing that works the best for me is to:
— never shave standing up in the shower
— always use shave gel, not soap
— shave when you have 40 minutes to devote to shaving, take your time, and concentrate on each stroke of the razor
— do not use disposable razors
— soak your legs in the tub for 10 minutes before shaving.. this softens your leg hair and makes it easier to shave off
as for your friend's sister.. i think she was pulling your leg (hair)...

I know this sounds nuts, but try using hair conditioner. It seems to makes it easier on your skin
