I will always love Tony even if he never wins another race... when he is racing his wheelchair down the hallway I will be yelling GO SMOKE! The man is awesome and I love him deeply. I would never change him either.
Quote from Tony: "Ask some veterans and ask the guys that I run up
front with every week," Stewart said. "I think I'm a pretty fair
driver to those guys. If I'm wrong on that, I'll quit. I'll give you
my hard card and retire tomorrow.
"But I'm pretty sure that those guys are going to say I race pretty
fair 99 out of 100 times."
Regardless of what the media has to say or all the Tony haters, the
man is respected among his peers. He has proven time and time again
that he can race the best and win. He will continue to race because
he is the best and he loves racing. I know he hates the media with
a passion but he's reached a point in his life where he can't let
them or the haters get to him. You know why? Because when he lets
that happen, he isn't so capable of controlling his temper.
He is just like everybody else, he wants to be accepted and loved
and respected and it's very difficult for him when that doesn't
happen but he's learning to accept that.
He's grown so much in the last few years. Fans have watched him go
from outspoken and at times even rude, to the man who apologizes for
his aggressive behavior. I do not want to see him change and stop
being Tony. If you take away his honesty and his aggressiveness you
have a shell of a man and then hed be just another racer.
Every day he races, he gives everything he's got. He conquers his
claustrophobia, he controls his temper, and he shows his passion.
If you take that away, we don't have our beloved Tony anymore.
This last weekend will take it's toll on the man once again. He has
to answer for his actions to the media and the Nascar fans again. A
weekend off to relax and enjoy? I truly doubt it. Already they
have mounted up the pressure on the man, making him answer for
something he did out of pure emotion. Why should he answer for
something any other driver out there may have done? You know why
Tony answers? Because he feels he owes it to his fans and his
crew. He knows he has caused some pain for it and he is man enough
to admit he made a mistake.
The associated press and Yahoo Sports are very biased in their
opinion of Tony. If you have ever noticed though, where is the
comment box so you can let them know how you feel about their
prejudice? Tony is no longer taking email for a reason, but you can
still mail him. I am not going to say he will answer the hate mail,
but you can send him or Home Depot a letter. But where are the
reporters to answer to us? UNAVAILABLE!
Let them walk a day in Smoke's shoes, race in 140 degree temps in a
car that makes you feel like you can't breathe cuz you are
claustrophobic and then let some idiot rookie slam you into the wall
and see what your reaction is. Let them deal with the pressures that
they put on Smoke.
It just seems like when other drivers do the same thing no one
reacts the way they do when TONY does it. Tony being the
controversial driver he is, with his temper and his honesty will
always be the media's favorite to tear apart. I just hope he
doesn't change for them because I don't want to lose the Smoke I
have grown to love!
GO SMOKE!!!

I will always be a Tony Stewart fan.Yes Tony has bad moments like anyone else after all he is only human.Where is the outrage for Carl Edwards spinning Tony out on pit road where there were many people who could have been hit or killed.Yeah Tony gave Carl the finger so what! Carl was the one who by his own admission drove up beside Tony and used some hand gestures of his own.Tony never laid a fender on Edwards and yes I know Carl was caught up in the retaliation with Clint. If every time someone got the finger flipped at them they resorted to spinning out the guilty driver there would be no race only cautions, come on you don't spin someone out because they flipped you off. There is no reason I can see to not continue to be a Stewart fan he is by far the most talented driver in NASCAR today.

I think Tony has a short fuse and goes over the line sometimes which hurts an innocent drivers like Carl Edwards last week but I like Tony and agree with him about these younger drivers who think they can do what they want out there and have huge attitudes because they get good rides and don't earn there way. KYLE BUSH is a good example. Years ago you had to race a few years before you got a Roush or Childress car.
Also, Tony is one of the most generous guys off of the track. If you talk to people around NASCAR he is the nicest guy off of the track and will do anything to help people. Earnhardt was the same way. He was aggressive on the track but gave so much back to the community.

Sure am!! Liked him since the beginning, and will continue to be a fan.. Go SMOKE!!
Now, with that being said..oh sure there have been times when I've rolled my eyes and have wondered why, but it's all gravy after that. I let him deal with all that stuff on his own. I'm glad 2002 was the start of a change for things, and I do like how much more rounded he has become.
True fans are there through thick and thin, bad and good. Every driver has a not so great moment. Heck, I was a little disappointed in Carl Edwards (who is one of my top 5 drivers) but I'll get over it and still be a fan..

I'm a Jeff Gordon fan but I like Tony. He has always had some issues and he is an aggressive driver but he isn't the only one. Somebody has to be the bad guy every week so when it is Tony then everybody is leaving Gordon alone!

I'm an EARNHARDT fan first and foremost.
BUT...I am also a fan of Smoke...was before the last few races am now..and always will be..
I'm also a fan of Jeff Gordon...
These are my top three favorites..then...............
As long as they're in a Chevrolet.....I cheer for em..
Like someone already said...You stick by your favorites no matter what..through the good and the bad.
It's also like someone else already said...when they're bashing Tony...they're letting Jeff rest...........
There is going to be bashing of one driver or the other after every race.............
This week........they chose Tony...not long ago..it was Jeff.
Who's it gonna be next week?
(A good question for Yahoo Answers..ya think?)
I think I'll post "that" question and see what kind of responses we get.
GO EARNHARDT !!!
GO SMOKE !!!
GO GORDON !!!
LET'S HEAR FOR "CHEVY" RACING ! YEAH !

Tony's Tony. He will always race like that. 10 years ago it was no big deal but because Tony has no problem speaking his mind or givin someone a gentle nudge on the track he gets black flagged because he's so flagrant about it.

I'm glad to see sooooo many SMOKE backers!!!!! He is a really decent guy!! I live in Dayton Indiana and his grandma and grandpa live out here and his pilots daughter and his pilot lives not far from here, they are all good down to earth people!!! and a true nascar fan is LOYAL to their driver!!! I'm a Stewart fan for life!!! ALWAYS HAVE BEEN ALWAYS WILL BE!! I will admit Stewart pissed me off when he reacted the wat he did but that's STEWART!!!!!!!!! That's why I love him he seen he was wrong and TOTALLY took responsibility for it too!!! It's not that you make wwrong choices that is bad it's when you act like you did nothing wrong and STEWART has NEVER done that!! Oh and I don't think Edwards would've made SMOKE bleed that's just toooo funny!!!!! Hell he even apologized to him! GO STEWART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got a question, just hypothetical, if Stewart purposely wrecked someone and killed them, you're saying you still would be a fan?
I know that would change my mind, no matter who it was!
I don't mean that offensively to you or any other die hard fan of Smoke, I just think NEVER is a big stretch!
