i don't think it should be the government's decision on whether or not gays should get married. That should be something the church decides. As far as adoption, anyone should be allowed to adopt as long as he/she is fit to be a good parent.

Yes to both questions.
The thing about gay marriage is the fact that for gays and lesbians, marriage already exists...if you love someone and wish to spend your entire life with them, then that's YOUR business. If society dispproves society needs to back out. You're not marrying society after all.

As for lesbians or gay male couples being able to adopt: Absolutely. Anyone who has the potential to be a good parent should adopt, regardless of who they kiss, how they kiss, or how butch or fem they look. There are kids out there who NEED parents. And for all of those bible thumping defenders of marriage and family, I think they need to take a long and hard look at their own actions since THEY are the only ones fighting AGAINST marriage and family, often attempting to tear families apart just because they don't "approve" on "moral" grounds.

It's sick and pathetic that as an allegedly civilized society, we're more obsessed with who can get married and who cannot, or who can adopt kids and who cannot, when the bottom line is, if straight people don't want kids raised by gay or lesbian parents, then why the heck are straight people putting kids up for adoption in the first place?

Any two people can enter into a legal partnership in all 50 states. It isn't about marriage, it's about spousal benefits. Whether they get free health care and that stuff should depend on who's paying. The government shouldn't make companies pay extra - it would make it harder for gays to get jobs.

I think that stable GL couples with a solid history (female couples traditionally are very stable, male couples not) should have the opportunity to adopt children over a certain age. Young babies should have the best opportunity to have a mother and a father - it is the best way to learn about relationships with both sexes. But after a certain age, adoption chances becomes slim, and a same-sex family is far better than regular foster care.

What's next, kids able to marry at the age of 10 ???

Gay or lesbian relationships are fine however, I just don't agree with legalizing marriage between gay men and lesbian women.

First of all... sin? Stop pushing you bible garbage on me.
Gay marriage is legal in Massachusetts. Gay couples are allowed to adopt just like everyone else. Why shouldn't they? If they can provide a good home than gay people should be allowed to adopt just like straight people.
Ya know, there are more socially moral gay people than these bible thumping zealots that preach hellfire and eternal damnation to people that are trying to live their lives free of fear and bigotry. Gay people are less likely openly criticize people for who they do unlike the aforementioned groups that do.

When it comes to the religious sacrament of marriage, it is up to each church to decide for itself the criteria for bestowing or denying this or any other sacrament. In a nation with religious freedom, the last thing we want is our government telling churches what God wants them to do.

This there is the legal construct which is incorrectly called 'marriage', a construct wherein two consenting adults enter into a reciprocal agreement to be one anothers' next-of-kin with all the rights, priviliges, and responsibilities that entails. To me it doesn't make sense to deny people the right to designate their "most significant other" as legal next-of-kin simply on the basis of gender. What next, we don't allow people with more than 20 years age difference to marry?

Why not... That's what I say! The way strait people *** up their marriages and kids... Gay people couldn't do any worse!

I think it is funny that a society of people want to rule over who can and cant get married! These same people have a 50% + failure rate themselves!

What happened to "We the people" and "All men are created equal"

I can just hear them at that meeting.... "gays cant get married! We want to be the only ones to screw it up!"

No and No.

The truth doesn't change. It is the same yesterday, today, and forever. No amount of legislation by sinful governments; no amount of rationalizing or trying to hide from sin under the guise of "constitutional"; and no amount of stamping their feet, holding their breath, or throwing their temper tantrums in the streets holding their signs will change the truth.

Homosexuals know they're sinning. They, like all of us, try to rationalize sin---even though we know it's wrong. We live with boyfriends and girlfriends and have sex outside of marriage. That's wrong---it's a sin, but there are many who find ways of rationalizing their sin. We lie, we cheat, we are greedy, and we covet what others have. Those are all sins that we try and rationalize.

Whenever you are in sin, and you're living your life in a way that you know is not pleasing to God, the first thing you try to do is hide. We all do. We hide behind rationalizations. We hide behind "social acceptance". We hide behind "tolerance". But regardless of where we try to hide, we cannot escape the consequences of our sins. We only fool ourselves.

So, I would say homosexuals---as well as all of us---are just trying to do their best to find a good hiding place so that they do not have to admit, confess, and turn away from their sinful natures.

Yes, so that they can experience the misery of marriage as well as divorce.

Did you read about the first lesbo marriage in MA, they are spitting up.

Serves them right.

Straight married people are fighting everyday for the right to be single.

Yes and Yes. It's legal for gays to get married here in Ontario, Canada. And I've seen no uproar against it.
